Simon Kipila

Chief Programmes Officer

Simon's journey with The Maa Trust began as an intern, marking the genesis of his commitment to community development. From June 2018 to February 2021, he served as a Project Officer, where he demonstrated his dedication and skills in project management. Recognizing his potential, Simon was promoted to the role of Health and WASH Manager in February 2021. In this role, he spearheaded initiatives focused on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), as well as Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), directly impacting the community and schools.

Under his leadership, the WASH and MHM programs flourished, resulting in improved health outcomes and increased awareness about hygiene practices in the communities The Maa Trust serves. Simon's efforts included the successful implementation of clean water projects, sanitation facilities, and comprehensive hygiene education programs, significantly enhancing the quality of life for many residents.

In May 2024, Simon's exceptional performance and strategic vision led to his promotion to Chief Programmes Officer. In this senior role, he oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs, ensuring they align with the organization's mission and objectives. His leadership has been instrumental in expanding the scope and impact of The Maa Trust's initiatives, driving sustainable development, and fostering community resilience.

Simon's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from Egerton University. He is also pursuing a Master of Development Practice at Regis University in Denver, USA. His multifaceted expertise in statistics, development practice, and program management continues to drive meaningful change within The Maa Trust, making him a pivotal figure in the organization's efforts to improve health, education, and livelihoods in the communities it serves.
